How Do Our Oil-Based Cosmetics Serve Dry & Sensitive Skin?

Oil-Based cosmetics are rich and moisturizing products that contain little to no water. We make all of our products without water. This allows us to use a method of product preservation called hurdle technology. In hurdle technology, the combination of ingredients, packaging, production environment and manufacturing processes create a finished product that is self-preserving.

Being self-preserving allows us to avoid preservatives like parabens, while using only raw and natural ingredients allows us to avoid sulphates, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. The results are great-smelling natural products that are less likely to trigger a sensitive skin reaction.

What are the benefits of using oil-based cosmetics?

Our oil-based cosmetics are thoughtfully crafted with ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and beeswax. These raw and natural ingredients are often the better choice for people with dry and sensitive skin. The products absorb slowly - protecting and nourishing, then safely washing off the skin. Most of what goes on our skin ends up down our drain, so ingredients definitely matter!

Most water in water-based creams evaporates off of your skin. The non-comedogenic oils (meaning these cosmetic oils do not clog pores) in our products help to support your moisture barrier throughout the day. The vitamins, minerals and fatty acids present in the raw ingredients help to nourish your skin, while the water-free base makes the product a perfect fit for our compostable packaging.

Why are oil-based cosmetics a great investment in your skin?

Simple ingredients sourced from nature. Feel confident knowing exactly what you’re putting on your skin.

Whether it is a bar soap, deodorant, facial cream, or body butter, our oil-based cosmetics give you an amazing return on your investment. Without fillers, you always get to use less of our products than you are used to using. A simple dab on a fingertip can moisturize your face in the evening, and it’s not uncommon for a deodorant to last 3, 4 or even 5 months.

When products last longer, we;

  • Need to ship products less frequently
  • Use less raw resources
  • Use far less packaging
  • Reduce our carbon footprint
  • Save you money as you care for the long-term skincare needs of your family
